The Office of the Clerk provides Parliament and its committees with secretariat and advisory services, including advice on legal issues and specialist parliamentary procedure. It broadcasts Parliament TV and brings the words of Parliament to the people with the record of parliamentary debates known as Hansard.

As one of two Hansard Managers, you will be responsible for developing a high-performance team of around 10 people. You'll be charged with maintaining a strong team spirit and an innovative customer-centric culture, where continuous development and improvement is a way of life, where success is celebrated, and where professionalism and fun go hand-in-hand.

We are looking for a true leader, with a natural ability to inspire and influence others to achieve great things - someone others automatically look to for guidance and direction. You'll need excellent relationship-management skills, a drive for results and a genuine desire to deliver top-notch products and service to our customers and stakeholders.

As a manager you'll have responsibility for tasks like budgeting, reporting and managing finances and risks. Previous experience in managing publication or production processes will be an advantage; but make no mistake, the core of this role is people-leadership.

So you'll need previous experience in recruiting, leading, empowering and developing a team of professional staff. And you'll know how to ensure that all team-members are clear about what is expected of them, receive regular feedback on how they are doing, are recognised for their achievements, and are encouraged to learn new skills and to grow in their careers.
