Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University is internationally recognised as a leading international institution in the teaching and research of food science and food technology, offering an IFT accredited Bachelor of Food Technology (Hons), alongside its postgraduate offerings in Master of Food technology, and Master of Food Safety and Quality.
Our School of Food and Advanced Technology is inviting applications from internationally oriented candidates with a strong interdisciplinary research record capable of supporting our undergraduate Bachelor of Food Technology (Hons) programme in collaboration with Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China. We welcome applications with expertise across the fields of food microbiology, food science and technology and food safety. The successful applicant will additionally assist in the management of Massey's academic offering, and additionally will be expected to establish and implement a research programme aligned to their area of expertise, with particular consideration towards collaborative engagement with researchers within Jiangnan University.
In accordance with these expectations, while you will be employed by Massey University in New Zealand, the role will be located in China and offered at Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level, based on your experience.
Applicants will possess a PhD degree in a related field from an internationally reputable university. Prior experience of academic teaching and research of at least five years is expected. Applicants with prior equivalent industrial experience will also be considered.
The salary range for this role is at a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor Grade (for 2024), ranging from $101,724 to $157,025 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.
