Job Description

New senior position within our district-wide Payroll team.

We are a small team, providing Payroll services for approximately 2,700 staff across the Nelson Marlborough region, and have multiple employment agreements which offers a level of complexity that will really test your payroll skills.

We are seeking to employ someone with proven Payroll skills to fill a new senior role within the Payroll team. You will have ideally at least eight years of Payroll experience and will be able to demonstrate your ability to take the lead during the pay run processing, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the agreed time-frames and in accordance with legislation, employment agreements and policy.

You will have the skills to develop training material and provide support and training to staff to ensure that all tasks undertaken within the Payroll team are compliant and demonstrate best practice.

Being able to demonstrate your ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders will be a huge advantage and while experience with the AMS applications (LEADER and ACTOR) would be advantageous, it is not an essential requirement.

Attention to detail is a key skill for any Payroll professional, but you will also need to be able to work with minimal supervision and show initiative for process improvement; this will require you to have an advanced understanding of legislation and a demonstrated ability to understand complex employment agreements.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight.
