About the role

You will part of a small team responsible for the end to end processing of payroll for the Nelson/ Tasman/Marlborough region, our payroll is approx. 2600 employees geographically spread from Murchison to Blenheim with our two main sites in Nelson and Blenheim, to assist us with such a large and complex payroll service, we have a fully integrated roster to pay system.

We are co-located with the innovative and forward thinking people and capabilities team on the Braemar campus of the Nelson Hospital site - it has a great outlook over the campus grounds.

Our key focus in the Payroll team is providing an excellent payroll service to our fellow colleagues, we strive for excellence in everything we do and are always open to new ideas on how to improve our service.

To be considered for a senior role you will need to bring substantial payroll experience.

About you

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • demonstrated ability to develop business processes
  • comprehensive and current knowledge of NZ Payroll related legislation
  • experience with roster to pay payroll systems
  • an interest in rostering and working with Payroll/ HRIS applications
  • strong administration skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • proven ability to work self-directed within a small payroll team
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • demonstrated your ability to engage with and develop employees skills around the use of new technology, when working with wide ranging levels of IT competency
  • proven your ability to foster collaboration with stakeholders.

Additionally it would be advantageous if you had experience with using AMS Software LEADER, ACTOR, SQL), but not essential as training will be provided.
