The International Connections team supports the movement of goods and people by air and sea to where they want to go, both in New Zealand and abroad.

We have are seeking an experienced Adviser and Senior Adviser to join our team. A key focus will be working as part of a small team on updating New Zealand's drone regulations, to support New Zealanders to maximise the benefits from drones, while managing the risks. You will also have opportunities to work on issues across the aviation and maritime systems.

The Adviser role is permanent. The Senior Adviser role is fixed-term, initially for 12 months.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a tertiary-qualified Adviser and Senior Policy Adviser with experience in regulation and policy development. Experience working on aviation issues or in an international setting would be a bonus.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • strong analytical skills and your ability to deal with complex and ambiguous issues
  • the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • your ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and actively influence others
  • a track record of getting things done.

The salary range for the Adviser role is $65,392 to $107,052.

The salary range for the Senior Adviser role is $91,656 to $129,397.
