Job Description

The Portfolio and Delivery Services Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade turns ideas into reality within the Ministry. We are the Ministry's trusted advisors in the ‘how to' space. We are responsible for making sure projects, programmes and initiatives are delivered with best practice, good tools and investment goals in mind. We also play a role in integrating services to support an all of government offshore footprint. We are part of an integrated system that enables the Ministry to advance New Zealand's interests and project New Zealand values internationally.

We have a vacancy for a Portfolio Management Coordinator to support a portfolio approach to managing investments. The role will:

  • Bring superb organising skills to maintaining the Ministry's database of investments.
  • Support the embedding of investment prioritisation and governance processes.
  • Be a great custodian for good practice investment management tools and templates.

What the role does

This is a pivotal role in supporting the Ministry's investment management practices.

Working as part of a small team, you will be interacting with and providing senior management forums with portfolio management dashboards and metrics, and as well as providing some secretariat support to governance groups. You will also be an advocate for good portfolio management practices across the Ministry as well as managing feedback for continual improvement.

What we need

We are looking for a self-starter with attention to detail. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, approachable, and have good knowledge of process management and development. This would be reflected in the way they add value to portfolio processes and how they communicate to stakeholders
