  • Two 0.8 FTE permanent positions available in Oncology Outpatients
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals

The Team: What we do

Not only is Christchurch Hospital's Oncology Service the largest provider of oncology services in the South Island, we are leaders in clinical practice and research at the forefront of clinical developments and quality models of care. The Oncology Day Unit specialises in the care and treatment of oncology patients in an outpatient setting. You will be working specifically in the Oncology Clinic that functions as an outpatient consultation and follow up service.

The Role: Where you fit in

  • Registered Nurse position in Oncology Outpatient Service.
  • Triage service delivery to Oncology Outpatients
  • Education delivery and administration of chemotherapy and biotherapies
  • The provision of Patient education
  • Support/triage patients receiving radiation therapy


  • Mon - Fri part-time - 0.8 FTE with options available (four weekly rotating roster). Three shift times - 0730-1600, 0830-1700, 1000-1830

Skills and experience:

  • You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a current NZ practising certificate
  • You will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills, be keen to expand your skills and have a strong interest in the Oncology speciality
  • Real ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Oncology/Haematology experience not essential
  • You will be proactive and self-motivated
  • You will understand the importance of team work and be solution orientated
