The position of Adviser Practice, Community Probation supports the Community Probation practice team to assist the Chief Probation Officer in the development, delivery, analysis and monitoring of the implementation of their Practice Framework and general capability development for community probation professionals within Corrections.  It is an entry level position aimed at providing a career pathway into community probation's practice development team, within Service Development.

 

Key areas of responsibility encompass

  • Assist with analysing requirements and making recommendations on issues relating to the support available to probation staff to assist them to make effective and appropriate professional judgements and decisions about pre-sentence advice to the judiciary and in the management of offenders
  • Assist the team with any issues and provide suggestions on potential improvements in practice design, implementation, service delivery and associated support mechanisms and tools based on research and practice evidence
  • Assist the team and CPO in ensuring probation staff have appropriate awareness of updates and improvements in probation practice e.g. liaising with communications, Corrnet story drafting, liaison with the field
  • Liaise with CP Operations, quality, design, high risk offender management teams as required
  • Provides support to the team and CPO on all work programmes relating to Well-Functioning Sites and/or investigations undertaken by the CPO or team as required
