Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for trainer who would also like to be involved in the development of training material join our busy team. The Trainer Material Developer (TMD) is responsible primarily for the delivering of financial systems training. Part of the position of the TMD will be the develop of learning material in both print and eLearning formats.

The role is fixed-term, six month position.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) is comprised of five regions with over 400 stations, and 14,000 volunteer and paid firefighters spread throughout the country. As well as responding to a wide range of emergency situations, the FENZ is focussed on fire safety and prevention in NZ communities.

Training is responsible for providing a wide range of training, education and professional development solutions for both operational and non-operational staff. Solutions are developed or sourced to meet the learner's specific needs, while at the same time achieve the highest possible standards in training/education, with the ultimate goal of supporting the FENZ to reduce the incidence and consequence of fire.

The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes:

Essential:

  • Teaching or training experience
  • Sound experience facilitating and briefing groups
  • Experience in or a formal qualification in education, online training material development, training design, or equivalent experience
  • Experience and/or background in educational writing, editing, design of learning materials, and literacy strategies

Desirable:

  • Experience and skills developing materials for delivery in the online and blended learning environment
  • Experience in the use of rapid authoring software and other industry specific tools
  • Project management experience
