Play an important role in helping the University turn data into meaningful insights that inform planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. Working as part of the Planning, Performance and Analytics (PPA) team, you will contribute to the University's enterprise reporting and evaluation activities.
This includes supporting the delivery of surveys and evaluation programmes, analysing data to identify trends and patterns, and producing clear reports and visualisations that translate complex information into accessible insights for decision-makers.
You will collaborate with colleagues across academic divisions, professional services, and Information Technology Services to ensure data is accurate, well understood, and aligned with organisational priorities. The role also contributes to important institutional reporting processes, including statutory reporting requirements.
This is an opportunity for a curious and analytical professional who enjoys working with data, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to evidence-informed decision-making across a large and diverse organisation.
Salary will be in the range of $73,235 to $87,024 per year based on the skills, knowledge, and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Hillcrest Campus in Hamilton.

You are a curious and detail-oriented data professional who enjoys translating complex information into meaningful insights that support decision-making.
You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are confident working with large and varied datasets. You have experience analysing data, developing reports or dashboards, and presenting findings in a clear and accessible way for different audiences.
You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders across an organisation to understand information needs, gather requirements, and deliver reporting outputs that support business priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences will be key to your success in this role.
You will also bring excellent organisational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience with data analysis tools, statistical methods, or scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R would be advantageous, as would experience in the tertiary education or public sector environment.

The Planning, Performance and Analytics (PPA) team provides an enterprise-wide capability for operational and strategic reporting, drawing primarily on centrally managed data held within the University's data warehouse and supported by Information Technology Services (ITS). In addition, the team designs and delivers targeted data-collection and evaluation activities to address specific institutional information needs.
