Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Pūkenga - Lecturer in Nursing to join Te Kura Tapuhi Hauora - School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Practice. You will play a leading role in the development of the Master of Nursing Practice (MNP) and Master of Nursing Science (MNS) curricula in accordance with the Nursing Council of New Zealand registered nurse scope of practice as it relates to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Kawa Whakaruruhau framework.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and teach undergraduate/postgraduate courses in the MNP, MNS and other programmes as required
- Advance a sustained and disciplinary-relevant research programme
- Successfully supervise post-graduate research students to completion
- Contribute to Hautūtanga/Leadership, administrative roles and outreach to the wider community

You will be a motivated, early career academic who is passionate about research and teaching nursing and cultural safety to health professionals.
Key requirements:
- Completed, or nearly completed, Doctoral degree
- Teaching experience in postgraduate Nursing education
- A New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate with an established area of clinical expertise
- Knowledge of kawa whakaruruhau and cultural safety
- Effective engagement with iwi and other external stakeholders
- A developing record of scholarly research and commitment to seeking research funding
