Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an experienced Analyst. You will play a pivotal role in people information utilisation. This is a permanent role, full-time or possibly part-time (0.8FTE or more). The office is based at Kelburn campus.
You will work to ensure:
- HR information and reporting frameworks are developed to align with and support the University's strategic goals, policies, and procedures, improving integration and data-driven outcomes
- information provided to the HR team and client groups within the University and to other organisations is aligned with business objectives, effectively identifies trends and provides actionable insights that support decision-making
- reporting, benchmarking and rankings information and approaches are fit for purpose, data integrity is supported, and reporting is accurate and concise and delivered on time
- leadership of and contributions to HR initiatives, projects and processes are informed by appropriate information and analysis, the work is well managed and is effective in achieving agreed outcomes
- risks and issues are proactively identified and effectively managed to ensure continuous improvement and the uninterrupted delivery of services as the University advances its automation initiatives.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
We're looking for a proactive Senior Analyst who can improve the provision of people information, enabling managers and staff to have the right information at the right time. You will communicate well, explore and agree requirements, and provide accurate and timely information and advice. You will have proven abilities to work as a part of cohesive teams.
What you'll bring:
- Knowledge and experience with human resource management dystems, payroll and/or financial systems, processes and reporting, preferably using Ascender and Oracle systems
- Demonstrated analytical skills with an ability to solve problems and integrate solutions, and report writing skills, in particular SQL
- Proven experience in HR, business, or a related field, with several years of hands-on experience, including at least three years in a Senior Analyst role
- Knowledge and experience in remuneration frameworks and forecasting/modelling future workforce costs
- Advanced technical knowledge and skills in the use of Office 365/Microsoft Applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerBI, Power Automate) and SharePoint
- Practical knowledge and application of relevant legislation, information data management, access and security
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
