Job Description

Unbeatable in its diversity, rich in Kiwi history, dominated by lush native bush, a dramatic coast line, an enviable climate and laid back lifestyle. Perfect for scenic walks, amazing adventures, or just relaxing on our wonderful beaches; the West Coast is the place you want to be!

As a Transport Nurse you will escort a variety of patients transferring to and from Grey Base Hospital to Christchurch, ensuring they get optimal care during their transfer. If not required to travel on a shift, your broad range of skills will be used to support areas of the wards which are in most need for that time.

To be considered for this role you need to be an experienced Registered Nurse with over three years acute experience and a proven background and knowledge of medical and surgical conditions. Training in PRIME will be provided as the ambulance can sometimes be the first responders to emergency events. As there is a high level of autonomy in the role the successful applicant must be confident in their abilities and be able to think on their feet.

On a daily basis you will be liaising with a wide variety of health professionals and consumers, therefore you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and deal with those tricky situations in a diplomatic and expedient manner.

This is a permanent part-time role working .75 FTE on a roster basis.
