Senior Process Engineer at Wellington Water, Wellington - Wairarapa

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $101,787 to $143,699 pa (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

The purpose of the Senior Process Engineer is to coordinate and ensure the effective delivery of process engineering support across the Network Management Group (NMG) by providing engineering support and process advice to improve the process reliability for all Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. You will also represent NMG externally with contractors, consultants, councils and regulators for technical process engineering advice. In this role you are also expected to take the lead on complex issues, review work and provide support and technical guidance to the team.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring the following:

  • Minimum five years' experience in process engineering, ideally with significant experience in water, wastewater and/or stormwater process engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Process Engineering), ideally at a Chartered Professional engineer (CPeng) level
  • Knowledge of the current compliance requirements with respect to the relevant and current Acts, consents, rules, and standards
  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and monitor progress
  • Mentoring and coaching background
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving experience, alongside integrity and professionalism
  • Confidence, a proactive nature and initiative
