Who are we
We manage the drinking water, wastewater, and storm water services from source to sea for our client councils, who are the Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt and Wellington city councils, South Wairarapa District Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council. We partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors on water services projects, water conservation, operations work and asset planning.
The Customer Operations Group leads the operations and maintenance of the network on behalf of client councils and is the first point of contact in responding to client and customer requests. The group's outcomes are delivered through an innovative alliance, comprising people and resources from Wellington Water and Fulton Hogan working together to achieve high-performance for the Wellington community.
Where you come in
You will be a part of a team responsible for the drainage investigations and flushing of blockages, ensuring to minimise waste and reduce environmental impacts. By undertaking CCTV inspections you will carry out periodic maintenance checks within work schedules and meeting established standards. You will operate and maintain equipment; follow procedures, plans and schedules. On occasion implementing level 1 traffic management practises. You will be required to keep comprehensive records, as well as represent the business in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with our customers.
To be successful you will have the following:
- A full class 1 licence with WTR endorsements - class 2 preferred
- STMS traffic control certificate (preferable)
- Confined space entry certificate (preferable)
- Working at Heights certificate (preferable)
- Relevant health and safety certificates, including traffic management, first aid and site safety
Experience working with CCTV inspections is required, You could stand-out with good knowledge of how the drainage network operates, and the importance of preventing overflows to the environment. You should be able to read and understand plans, and have a strong communication skills, and a commitment to health and safety best practice.
