Senior Business Analyst at Wellington Water, Wellington - Wairarapa

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

The remuneration range for this role is $108,644 to $153,379 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

As Senior Business Advisor, you will advise, translate and bridge the gap between business needs and technical requirements employed across Wellington Water's digital environment.

You'll be working closely with business stakeholders and with the partners and vendors we use to ensure appropriate standards for documentation and to instil good practice across the business.

Focusing on operational delivery initiatives, you will:

  • Develop and document the technical requirements for the products and solutions we build, buy and currently utilise
  • Lead business stakeholder sessions to identify solution requirements
  • Actively work with business stakeholders to document solutions and products
  • Provide analysis of current solutions for improvement opportunities

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with CBAP or other related certification advantageous
  • Four plus years' experience in solution documentation within a cross-functional solution development team
  • Proven track record of technical documentation in data platform environments
  • Experience using multiple solution delivery methodologies and related tools, including Jira, Confluence, MS Visio and Promapp
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

About us

Wellington Water Ltd is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa. Our job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed.

We're a multi-council owned entity tasked with managing the infrastructure and delivering water services to our communities. From Wednesday, 01 July 2026, a new chapter in water services begins. Tiaki Wai will take over responsibility for providing Three Waters Services to approximately 433,000 residents across the Wellington metro region.

Tiaki Wai will own the water assets it operates, giving it greater independence to manage and improve water services for current and future communities. Wellington Water employees will transition into this new council-owned entity.
