Trainee Policy Adviser Role

This is an opportunity for a bright, motivated graduate to begin a career in policy/regulation with exposure to experienced and competent professionals ready to share their knowledge and help you develop into a career role. Initially with a large administrative component, this role will provide development opportunities for the right candidate.

 

The Electricity Authority is an Independent Crown Entity responsible for the efficient operation and development of the New Zealand electricity market. We are the electricity market regulator. We promote competition in, reliable supply by, and the efficient operation of, the electricity industry for the long-term benefit of consumers.

 

A number of different Advisory groups provide us with specialist and technical advice and recommendations. In this role you will provide a full range of support to these groups in addition to contributing to the facilitation and delivery of the Market Design team's projects. There will be opportunities to be exposed to senior people in the industry and be in the room when issues and options are discussed and debated.

 

Your relationship management skills will be applied to a range of interactions with stakeholders, and you will need to be highly organised and attentive to quality, completing work in a timely and systematic way.

 

A tertiary qualification in economics, finance, business, public policy, law or a related discipline is required.
