Various part-time, full-time, permanent and fixed-term opportunities to join an experienced physiotherapy team, as well as an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within our Musculoskeletal team!

Opportunities to work across various specialties, including orthopaedics, the orthopaedic trauma unit, burns and plastics and emergency!

About the role

Christchurch Hospital is a busy, acute hospital with a large team of enthusiastic physiotherapists. Our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team works with patients across clinical specialties in Acute Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Trauma, Burns and Plastics, ENT, ED, Orthopaedic Outpatients and Hand Therapy Outpatients.

We have various opportunities for NZ Registered Physiotherapists to deliver services across our Musculoskeletal Cluster, working alongside rotational and non-rotational staff. We also have an opportunity for an Allied Health Team Leader to coordinate and provide leadership to our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity available from approximately June 2020 to develop your existing leadership skills in a health system undergoing rapid transformation.

Regular professional development opportunities is supported. Annual Practicing Certification (APC) is reimbursed, as is a large contribution towards PNZ membership. You must have current Registration with the New Zealand Physiotherapy Board along with a current APC.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Undertaking expert assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services
  • Supervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students

Allied Health Team Leader additional responsibilities:

  • The daily coordination and operational management of both rotational and non-rotational staff
  • Ensuring that professional development and supervisory needs of the team are met
  • Supporting and directing the Physiotherapy Service on Christchurch Hospital Campus alongside the Clinical Manager and the Leadership team

Your skills will include the following:

  • Experience in the acute orthopaedic setting (respiratory and/or spinal injury skills are advantageous)
  • Enthusiastic and confident in sharing your knowledge across your discipline
  • Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred for the Allied Health Team Leader vacancy
