KiwiBuild is about restoring the dream of home ownership to families throughout NZ, by providing eligible first home buyers with exclusive access to a range of fixed price modest starter homes. KiwiBuild does this by supporting developers to build more quality, affordable houses, and connecting them with eligible KiwiBuild buyers through a ballot process.

About the role

This is a fixed-term opportunity until June 2020. This role is part of the Finance and Risk team within Operations. Operations is responsible for functions and support services that ensure the smooth running of KiwiBuild. The corporate functions within the team include programme management, finance and risk, people and capability, wellbeing and health and safety and security, facilities and property, and day-to-day operations.

Reporting to the Manager Finance and Risk, this team is responsible for the effective management of the financial and risk functions, planning, reporting and related processes, for KiwiBuild.

The Risk Analyst – Deal Evaluation and Support role provides specific financial advice and guidance, along with assessment of financial risks on all deals during the evaluation process and before negotiations across all KiwiBuild workstreams.

The role requires someone who can work in a rapidly changing environment and who is comfortable recommending, justifying, and implementing change.


What you will bring

  • Strong commercial credit experience, ideally within property finance
  • Experience in property development and contract negotiation
  • Proven experience in reviewing business cases/evaluations and undertaking effective financial and risk analysis
  • Ability to challenge whilst being able to forge strong and enduring relationships
  • Tertiary qualification in finance or property valuation would be desirable
