About us

Funding and Programme Delivery is a key group within the new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. We fund and partner initiatives to deliver more permanent public housing and affordable rental supply. We also spearhead the provision of programmes that are focused on supporting people with a housing need, including those who are homeless.  Ultimately, our Group (like our colleagues across the Ministry) is all about creating thriving communities where everyone has a place to call home.

About the roles

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced project coordinator to join our Housing Supply team based either in Auckland or Wellington. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Housing Supply team with coordination of their day to day duties. This will include full secretariat services to the Evaluation Panel meetings, coordinating the filing system, document management, managing a shared inbox and distributing new applications for funding to the responsible individual for review and updating the New Supply register.

About You

You will be an experienced project coordinator who proactively looks for ways to support the team so that they are able to meet their deadlines and delivery outcomes. You'll have excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently.

Your background will include:

  • Proven experience multitasking through a large workload
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced, results-oriented agency environment
  • Experience providing secretariat support
  • The ability to challenge and push back
  • Proactive approach, looking for ways to improve systems and processes
  • Professionally mature with sound judgment and the ability to gain immediate credibility  
  • Experience with a wide range of administrative tasks (travel booking, event management, scheduling meetings)
  • Experience maintaining registers
  • Strong time management skills
  • Natural talent to connect with people and build rapport.
