About Us

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the Government's lead advisor on housing and urban development and will deliver the Government's programme to address homelessness, increase public and private housing supply, make existing homes warmer and healthier, make housing affordable for people to rent and buy, and lead quality urban development strategies to create thriving communities.

About the role

This newly created position sits within our Ministerial Servicing team and is a unique opportunity for an experienced coordinator to really make this role their own. The Ministerial Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely diarising of officials' meetings with our various Ministers. This will include, adding meetings to the calendars of the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executives and other officials to ensure the right people are at the right meeting with the right information. This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity.

About you

We're looking for someone with experience as a coordinator or an advisor, preferably with an understanding of the Machinery of Government. You'll be a self-starter who is comfortable multitasking through a high workload. Your excellent communication skills will see you quickly build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Your experience will include:

  • Experience operating within a Machinery of Government role is desirable
  • Proven track record working within a changeable and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated agility in supporting multiple items and responding to changes in priorities
  • Proven ability to work methodically, pay attention to detail, use initiative in solving problems and know when to seek advice and guidance
  • Sensitivity to how people and organisations function
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High standards of professionalism and performance driven
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships and to develop trust and credibility with others.
