The Quality Assurance Division (QAD) is responsible for the quality assurance of (non-university) qualifications and programmes delivered across New Zealand and for quality assuring the performance and capability of all non-university tertiary education organisations and learner wellbeing.
The Service Support business unit is responsible for a range of change and implementation services that support QAD Business Units to operate effectively and assist tertiary education organisations to meet their regulatory obligations. Working across QAD, the unit ensures business processes are fit for purpose and responsive to staff and stakeholder needs.
The unit supports the implementation of policy, system and process changes across the Division, and provides operational and system support, advice and expertise to make it easier for education organisations to comply with their regulatory obligations.

The Senior Advisor – Business Systems and Improvement supports the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) has the accountable lead for key business systems and processes
The role works closely with business users, IS teams, and external vendors to ensure systems are fit for purpose, business processes are efficient and well-documented, and staff are supported to use systems effectively. The role leads business process improvement initiatives and supports the implementation of policy and system changes
In this role, you will:
We're looking for someone with experience in business process improvement and change enabled through systems and technology who takes initiative and enjoys making things better. You'll be confident working across the Division with Managers, Team Leaders and staff to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support system enhancements that deliver real value.

- Strong interest and curiosity in understanding what our systems enable the business to do
- Ability to identify customer requirements, evaluate options, and prepare business cases or project plans
- Proven high-quality oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Experience in business process design and related tools, especially Promapp
- Ability to analyse situations, understand context, and implement pragmatic, flexible solutions
- Ability to quickly establish and maintain strong, effective working relationships
