The System Design and Delivery (SDD) business group's aim is to provide, improve and maintain the land transport system to effectively enable transport services. Our focus is to design and deliver an integrated transport system for all New Zealanders.

In this role you will work with Agency partners to deliver a total system experience for our customers where everything is easy for them. You will deliver effective and efficient maintenance and management of New Zealand's transport system ensuring high levels of customer service, in order to provide New Zealanders with a seamless experience of the transport system.

The role is a varied one - you will be responsible for procurement and contract management, leading the planning and delivery of the forward maintenance work on the state highways network, as well as providing technical advice to our stakeholders.

Your expertise in relationship management and working collaboratively with customers and stakeholders will be crucial to your success in this role, as will your ability to build and lead your team. We are looking for a self-starter who is results driven, supports collaboration and leads by example. 

To be successful here and in this role you will also offer:

  • Extensive leadership experience in a large complex organisation
  • A demonstrable customer focussed approach
  • In-depth experience in working across the full delivery lifecycle
  • Proven record of working within transport network systems  and standards
  • A comprehensive understanding of New Zealand land transport and resource management legislation
