The Customer Experience and Behaviour team, part of our Operations group, is about using evidence, data and information, research and analytics and customer-centric design and support to ensure the customer drives everything we do. They collect data and information to design great customer experiences, use research and analytics to help understand our customers and their needs and they connect with the wider Transport Agency to improve the journeys of our customers through education and behaviour change.

The role

The purpose of the role is to design and deliver effective customer-centred, Young Drivers' road safety, behaviour change, education programmes. The programme will help young people become skilled, safe drivers and positively influence desired transport system user behaviour. We're seeking a reduction in young driver serious injuries and deaths and a land transport system that is free from harm. Your advice and guidance will embed best practice Young Drivers' education programmes and promotions. You will work with key stakeholders to strengthen Young Drivers' capability and align road safety messaging.

You will have experience working with young people in an education, psychology or service environment. You will take a customer focused approach and use that to understand best practice and ensure our Young Drivers' programme has the impact we're seeking to make a tangible difference to the safety of our transport system. You will have experience working closely with customers and stakeholders, so your strong communication and engagement skills will be put to good use. Continuous improvement is also a big part of this role – so you'll be undertaking research, evaluating the programme and keeping up to speed with best practice programme design and the latest research.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience designing and delivering customer-centred, behaviour change education programmes that contribute to organisational goals and objectives
  • Experience implementing education models, strategies and programmes
  • Proven experience commissioning or designing, peer reviewing and conducting programme evaluations; including quality assurance of programme design and delivery, research and evaluation
  • Experience designing and developing or contracting the design and delivery of digital products, especially e-learning resources
  • The ability to provide high quality, accurate research and evaluation advice and to translate research and evaluation findings into practical programme recommendations
  • Experience designing for, and working with, young people and/or parents of adolescents


Please note this role is a part-time role (32 hours per week with a preference for Wednesday or Friday being the day not worked).
