Emerging Professionals

Our Emerging Professionals programme will bring some of the country's top emerging talent together with the best people from across the NZ Transport Agency - Waka Kotahi. Through the work that you do, you'll get the chance to improve and enhance New Zealand's transport network and systems. On offer is a unique opportunity for you to go places you never expected within our organisation to help deliver our customer promise – great journeys to keep New Zealand moving.

Customer and Communications

As a graduate within Customer and Communications at the Transport Agency, you'll have the chance to launch your career through storytelling, developing the tools and channels that connect with our external audiences and equipping our staff to not only tell our story but to develop better and more meaningful relationships with our stakeholders, that deliver joint outcomes. You'll be making a real impact on the lives of New Zealanders. No matter your discipline, we're interested in your ability to tackle the big challenges, embrace diversity and understand our customers.

You can expect:

  • Opportunity to apply for permanent or ongoing roles at the Transport Agency on programme completion. 

What you will bring

  • The desire to collaborate and engage with a broad range of people
  • A desire to learn new information and skills and explore opportunities
  • Natural curiosity around how things are done and how to make things better
  • A pro-active approach
  • An appreciation of Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • A degree in Marketing, Human Centred Design, Commerce, Communications or similar quantitative subject.

All successful candidates will be sent an invitation to complete a SparkHire video interview and an Arctic Shores gamified-assessment that will take no more than 30-45 minutes.
