The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

The purpose of this role is to drive improved strategic asset management practices throughout the Transport Services Group. The Principal Strategic Asset Manager will take lead responsibility for the development and ongoing implementation of the Strategic Asset Management Plan and supporting elements for the state highways.

The primary areas of activity are to ensure the New Zealand Transport Agency maintain a current and useful Strategic Asset Management Plan that guides asset management approaches, and improvement in practices. This role will ensure the Strategic Asset Management Plan is well targeted and meaningful and that short to mid-term asset management practices support overall strategic asset management objectives.

This is a great opportunity for an individual with great influencing skills, who can build relationships and ensure a commitment to continuous improvement.


 

About you | Ko wai koe

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Significant experience in strategic infrastructure asset/maintenance management
  • Proven experience in asset management – preferably in transportation infrastructure
  • Experience in the development and use of strategic investment modelling and review
  • An ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability and experience leading from the front with the ability to influence others through negotiation and persuasion
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering services in the most efficient and effective way.
