This position will mean you will be working within the Transport Services Group. The focus of the Transport Services group is to provide, improve and maintain an integrated land transport system to effectively enable people-centred, technology-enabled, system focused transport services, in partnership with other system providers.


 

The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

As a Network Manager, you will be within a team to effectively manage and operationally utilise Southland State Highway assets. You will be working alongside the Network Outcome Contract team and within the Systems Management Team .

This role needs an individual who can thrive within and enhance a supportive and knowledge sharing environment.Building relationships with external providers and stakeholders (Councils, Land Owners/Businesses, Customers) is a significant element for this role, therefore we are seeking a self-motivated individual who has exceptional communication skills and who is adept at dealing with complex and sensitive issues within a political environment.  

This is a great opportunity to be part of maintaining and improving the transport network within the Southland Region.

 

About you | Ko wai koe

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Technical and practical experience in Asset Management, pavement design, maintenance and renewals practices knowledge and understanding of delivering best value solutions within a constrained budget
  • An understanding of forward works programmes and experience of balancing competing priorities within forward works programmes (desirable)
  • Asset data management and analysis
  • Experience at dealing with complex and sensitive issues in a political environment at both local and central Government
  • Knowledge of New Zealand Transport Agency's systems, process and manuals, and of the relevant legislation and technical standards (desirable)
  • Risk Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Able to collaborate with others and demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships to deliver agreed outcomes
