The Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E) Group exists to radically improve road safety, workplace health and safety and the environmental performance of the New Zealand land transport system.

The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

Reporting to the General Manager, Safety, Health and Environment, as our Senior Manager Integration you will be responsible for providing thought leadership across the Safety, Health and Environment Group's accountabilities and to engage with other parts of the Agency to explore insights and integration opportunities.

In this strategically focused role, you will put your extensive experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders as you collaborate in cross-agency and inter-agency work to galvanise an integrated approach and explore opportunities for our group to grow and develop. This role also encourages aligning outcomes and enhancing groups to work together to ensure we make the most effective decisions. This is a key role for the Safety, Health and Environment team as we deliver value and join the dots to continuous improvement.

We are a diverse team so it is essential that you are a people-centric person with sound interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong rapport and positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Your experience in leading a team and influencing and negotiating with senior and executive level stakeholders is essential. You will need to bring a focus on collaboration, customer focus and well-honed curiosity to the Agency.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong leadership experience in road safety and environmental sustainability, ideally in a transport environment
  • Experience in working across central and local government
  • Extensive experience in policy development and leading projects
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
  • A growth mindset and collaborative working style
  • A strong customer-focus
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Tertiary level qualifications at preferably post graduate level in a related discipline or equivalent experience
