Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to support Waka Kotahi in developing quality assurance processes & systems, and to work alongside Waka Kotahi subject matter experts and delivery teams.
You will support the Principal Advisor in the management and maintenance of appropriate standards and specifications and provision of technical guidance and direction to enable the delivery of improved quality assurance outcomes across Waka Kotahi's Transport System project delivery and operating model.
This is a role where you get to champion Quality Assurance internally and make a difference to the systems and processes at Waka Kotahi.

This is the right role for you if you enjoy engaging with groups and can promote and influence the uptake of new practices so out people contribute positively to the delivery of quality assured outcomes.
You will being skills in leading internal reviews and audits and be able to assist in the development and implementation of guidance an training material.
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- A civil engineering background and in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of construction
- Broad understanding of transport sector policies and processes is preferred
- Confidence to engage and influence a range of industry stakeholders and project teams
- Process driven with outstanding attention to detail
- A relevant tertiary qualification, and experience in quality assurance systems
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
