As the Senior Adviser Work Environments you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the department's Prison Industries and Employment Services Activities. This role involves developing and maintaining user-friendly and practical practice frameworks, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to best practices.
You'll collaborate closely with various teams to design policies and procedures from a human-centered perspective, integrating health and safety requirements to streamline systems and reduce conflicts for end users. You'll also provide high-quality advice to the Chief Custodial Officer and other stakeholders, contributing to the proactive assurance of Prison Industries and Employment Service activities.

- Good knowledge of contemporary concepts in work design, information management and communication.
- Can lead the successful and timely execution of work.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills, with proven ability to effectively joins dots between seemingly unconnected matters.
- Experience with contemporary approaches to the design and integration of complex organisational management systems (desirable).
- Exceptional attention to detail and advanced communication skills, particularly the application of plain language/plain English.
- Ability to communicate complex issues in a straightforward way to a range of stakeholders and audiences.
- Can operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting, appreciating the complexities and whole of government issues related to succeeding with Māori.
- Self-motivated, highly comfortable working in ambiguous situations, and able to deal with multiple competing priorities at the same time.
- Experience applying human-centred design and/or systems integration and decluttering within a large complex and fast-paced environment.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The mid-point of the salary range is $115,546 and the full range (85%-120%) is $98,215 - $138,656. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
