About the Role
We are currently seeking a Speciality Clinical Nurse (SCN), Occupational Health, to join our supportive Occupational Health Team on a Permanent Part-time 0.8 FTE basis.
As our team continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Nurse to provide expert clinical leadership, advice and delivery of occupational health services across the district.
The role focuses on maintaining high occupational health standards, supporting compliance with Health and Safety legislation, leading and supporting programs such as health surveillance and vaccination programmes, and managing complex occupational health cases. You will work closely with Occupational Physicians, Health & Safety colleagues, and service leaders to ensure safe, evidence-based practice.
Based in Nelson and Blenheim, our expanding team supports approximately 3,300 employees across the Top of the South. As an integral part of the broader District team, we work in close partnership with our colleagues in Christchurch and the West Coast. Together, we deliver responsive, high-quality Occupational Health services that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our kaimahi, ensuring they remain well and supported at work.
We are looking for a qualified, New Zealand-registered Senior Nurse with a passion for occupational health and the confidence to operate at an advanced practice level. You bring a wealth of clinical expertise and a proactive approach to supporting workforce wellbeing.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Current New Zealand Nursing Council registration and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- A tertiary qualification (Desirable if it's in Occupational Health).
- A Senior Nurse PDRP (or actively working toward one).
- Exceptional clinical judgement, strong communication, and the ability to build lasting professional relationships.
