About the Role
The Senior Project Manager plays a vital in our major projects in Whangarei. In this position, you will lead the project team day-to-day working closely with our Project Director to build a high-performing team by supporting, motivating and mentoring our team and partners across all delivery aspects. You will have ownership of the integrated program for the project, navigate the various interfaces, and mobilise resources to ensure successful execution. You will serve as the primary point of contact, keeping stakeholders informed about timelines and developments. You will have strong communication skills and an ability to prepare reporting and briefing to our most senior projects governance and critical stakeholders.
This role offers the chance to represent one of the most intriguing, complex, and significant construction projects in the country, contributing to essential infrastructure while enhancing your technical and leadership skills in a supportive environment. About the Team/Service/ Location
The mission of the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) is to provide the safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system. The IIG leads investment by understanding and managing these well, ensuring health facilities, sites, and equipment with the highest need of investment are prioritised and standardising the way these are maintained, refurbished or redeveloped.
About you
As a seasoned Infrastructure Senior Project Manager, you will have experience leading project teams, dealing with senior stakeholders, and possess good business and political accuman.
You will have experience managing multiple, and interconnected projects simutltaneoulsy as well as meeting deadlines, working within bugdets and proactively address and mitigate any risks or issues to the projects.
- You will have 8+ years' experience as a Senior Project Manager on major infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing the commercial performance of projects, ensuring timely and meaningful responses to challenges, issues and opportunities, and enabling sustainable levels of high performance.
- You will have experience in driving integration in design phase project teams, with specific experience in ECI, design alliance or other forms of integrated design programmes.
- Experience with Procore preferred.
- Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, or construction management.
- Strong understanding of New Zealand and international standard forms of contract.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
