About the Role
Under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse (RN), the outreach Kaiawhina provides support to Outreach Services within the community setting. You will promote engagement for Tamariki and whanau into immunisation services and promote positive health messages in the community setting. Functioning as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Outreach Support is not responsible for decision making in terms of client care, planning, assessment, monitoring or evaluation of care.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and know how to apply its principles effectively. You will demonstrate knowledge, skills and attitudes to ensure confident and effective interaction with young people, their whanau and be able to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels.
- NCEA level 2 or equivalent undergraduate certificate or diploma, and a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Current unendorsed full drivers licence
- An eye for detail, effective problem solving and a commitment for continuous quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Previous experience working in primary or community healthcare is desirable
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, and an understanding of Pacific cultures and communities including the ability to engage effectively and respectfully with diverse communities is desirable.
