About the role
Start your journey with us - we are looking for an exceptional Payroll Manager to lead and manage the payroll function ensuring statutory and employee terms and conditions are met. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, and allocating resources for payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll services and maintaining Payroll information system to meet statutory requirements.
The Payroll Manager is responsible for the Payroll team ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner. You will operate as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives. Additionally, this role will oversee Payroll reporting services, engage with stakeholders, and champion equity and Te Tiriti obligations. The role is integral to upholding our values and culture while driving reliable Payroll service delivery and continuous improvement.
The successful individual will optimise the contribution of the team through coaching, counselling and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to management.
Key skills and experience required
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a New Zealand Payroll operations role
- Experience in Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience in a complex multi-union and Collective Agreement environment
Experience in a health setting is preferred, however not essential to apply.
