In support of our expanding theatres we have opportunities within our Central Sterilising Unit (CSU) for qualified Sterilising Technicians. Applications are also invited for trainee positions offering on the job training. If you are looking for a career change this is a great opportunity to train and gain qualifications in this critical and interesting area of a hospital environment. The skills you will learn are transferrable and provide you with a career pathway.
Qualified Sterilising Technicians will be responsible for the proper decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of medical devices and equipment according to prescribed departmental policies and procedures. You will also demonstrate key Infection Control principles in all work practices.
You will be part of a diverse and supportive team who all have a common passion, care and enthusiasm to help you succeed!
You will have a minimum three years of secondary education and have completed year 11 or NCEA Level 2 in Maths, Science and English. You must have excellent computer skills and be physically fit to meet the requirements of the role.
You will be required to work all shifts including night shifts and weekends. On-call may be required.
