We have an exceptional opportunity for a Cardiac Sonographer to be part of a dynamic initiative that will have a positive effect on lives.
Northland DHB is piloting a mobile echo service with the aim of taking diagnostics ‘closer to home' A purpose built van is currently undergoing fit out and when completed will be fully operational, with a GE Vivid S70 machine, making it an integrative echo clinic room on wheels, with telehealth capability connecting to the Northland DHB Clinicians. The aim of this project is to take diagnostics to the community – to reduce the waitlist in the first instance, extending the service to co-locate with the primary sector providing a timely echo and diagnostic service. You will be part of the Cardiac Echo team working at Northland Hospitals and the mobile echo van on a rotational basis with other Northland DHB Cardiac Sonographers. You will also be working alongside NGOs, IWI, GPs and other Northland DHB staff for a successful project pilot outcome.
Required skills and experience:
As part of this pilot, we are looking for a Cardiac Sonographer to be part of the mobile echo team. Preferably we are seeking a sonographer registered with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB) and have a current practicing certificate. Alternatively, if you have the right qualification for cardiac sonography that is acceptable for registration as a sonographer with NZ MRTB, we welcome your application.
