Kaitakawaenga - Youth Forensics, Te Roopu Kimiora, Whangārei at Northland District Health Board (Whangarei), Northland

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Right now, we invite you to apply for an exciting opportunity for Kaitakawaenga within our Child and Youth Mental Health Services based here in the Whangārei rohe. This role requires an individual with mātauranga of Te Tai Tokerau rohe, iwi, and tikanga,

 

This role is full time, working 40 hours per week in our Youth Forensics.

 

Northland DHB is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.

 

Our ideal candidate will have experience working in Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Pakeha, working alongside tāngata whaiora and their whānau living with the effects of mental illness and addictions in our community.

 

You will have the ability to communicate and advocate for tāngata whaiora and their whānau, collaborate effectively with other members of the team, and engage Māori in making choices that enhance their wellbeing.

 

A commitment to improving health outcomes for Māori, cultural safety, care quality, and providing cultural recommendations to improve well-being is desired.

 

This is a community-based role, you must have a valid full drivers licence.

 

The successful applicant will work alongside other Kaimahi Māori within a supportive team environment of health professionals that is committed to delivering an excellent clinical and cultural service that reflects the needs of our tāngata whaiora and their whānau.
