- Work in the community to support patients needing specialist wound care, and management of conditions affecting viability and integrity of skin and underlying tissues

About the Role and Service
- As part of the Whangarei District Nursing Team the CNS – Wound will work in partnership with referred patients and their whānau, as part of a multidisciplinary team across the services in the Directorate along with other specialist and Primary care teams
- Case management and coordination of the patient and their whānau with health professionals, inpatient areas and intersectorially is integral.
- This role will be an expert in assessment skills; diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring that underpins practice. They will have specialist knowledge in complex wound care and lower limb management, and health conditions which are central to the role.
- Essential to the role is a strategic view of education for District Nursing teams in partnership with the DN Leadership .
- This is a permanent, part time position (0.9 FTE) based in Whangarei, however some travel around the region will be required.
About you
Essential Skills & Experience
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
- Relevant Post graduate tertiary qualification or working towards
- Specialty knowledge and practice expertise
- Ability to develop positive relationships with the patients/clients, treating them respectfully and as a first priority.
Ideally you will have experience in multi-disciplinary clinical teaching.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
