About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional leader to join our Perioperative Services team based at Whangārei Hospital as a Service Manager. This role will work in partnership with other leaders to provide leadership to the service, working with the General Manager and Clinical Directors to provide a high quality, cost-effective patient-centred service within Whangārei Hospital, and where necessary across Northland.
This role is integral to the district achieving its performance expectations with a particular focus on treatment health targets.

The perioperative service includes the Operating Theatres, the Surgical Admission Unit (SAU), Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and Central Sterilising Unit (CSU), pain service and anaesthesia. Our staff includes Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Anaesthetic Technicians (both registered and trainees), Health Care Assistants, Sterilising Technicians and trainees, and clerical staff. This role has line management responsibility for the Anaesthetic and Sterilising Technicians and trainees and administrators of the perioperative workforce.

About you
This position requires excellent relationship building, communication and collaboration skills, and an understanding of change management and conflict resolution. You will hold a postgraduate qualification in leadership/management development, with a minimum of 5 years of operational management experience in a healthcare setting.
