About the Role

As a District Nurse, your priorities are to meet the needs of patients and their family/whānau using contemporary nursing care, which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is patient/client centred, culturally sensitive and evidence –based.

Care is provided in the community, either at the patients place of residence or in community clinics, or other suitable environments as mutually agreed with the patient.

This role will be based in Commerce Street, Whangarei. Some travel throughout the region is required.

About you

If you are flexible, able to work independently and as part of a friendly and experienced team, you enjoy variety and the challenge of providing care to clients in the community, then we are looking for you.

  • Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Current Full NZ Driver's Licence
  • Collaborates with fellow team members and work groups to achieve specific objectives
  • Communicates information effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing
  • Experience in community health care is desirable
