Mō te tūranga - About the role
We have an exciting part-time, fixed-term opportunity for a senior Registered Nurse looking for that next step in their nursing career, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
- Provide specialist nursing care and expertise both in direct care delivery
- Mentor staff so they too gain further knowledge and skill
- Work across the organisation acting in the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager
- Support patients throughout their cancer care
- Housed within the Southern Blood and Cancer Service (SB&CS) but will have a role across the whole of the lung cancer pathway
- Based in Dunedin will work closely with the lung cancer CNS based in Invercargill
- Collaborate closely with the Cancer Nurse Coordinators (CNC), the Oncology CNSs and Faster Cancer Treatment team
- Provide a point of contact for patients with complex needs or where multiple specialties are involved
- Facilitate access to all components of the cancer multi-disciplinary team will be a key part of this role
- Rostered days Monday to Friday between 0800 and 1700, exact times to be negotiated

- For a Registered Nurse not quite yet at Clinical Nurse Specialist level, you would be given a comprehensive orientation, and benefit from onsite support from other senior Clinical Nurse Specialists to assist with learning and development needs
Mōu ake - About you
- Either hold or be working towards post graduate qualification at a minimum of a diploma or/and a master's degree
- Excellent group facilitation skills and advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion and mediation skills
- excellent organisational and time management skills, in addition to a professional can do attitude in line with our values
- Proven practice in oncology nursing, and advanced knowledge and skills
- There is an expectation that post graduate studies will have been undertaken, already commenced, or are planned for the future

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Collective Agreement, Designated Senior Nurse Salary Scale, Grade 4 and falls between Step 1 ($116,040 p.a pro-rata) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a pro rata)
