Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Southern Blood and Cancer Service (SBCS) provides a Radiation Oncology Service for the entire Southern region. Medical Physicists play a vital role in the clinical application of radiation to treat cancer. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that treatments are safe and effective.
Mōu ake - About you:
- Must have a proven ability to lead the development of clinical techniques and innovations
- Possess ACPSEM certification/accreditation in radiation oncology medical physics, or an international equivalent, and have a post-graduate degree in Medical Physics or Physics
- Have experience with Elekta and Varian LINACs including clinical experience with Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR); and LINAC quality assurance procedures
- Desirable to have Elekta Monaco treatment planning experience
- Highly motivated, a great team player, and passionate about providing high quality care

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the APEX/Te Whatu Ora Medical Physicists Collective Agreement (19th January 2024 to 31st August 2025) and falls between Step 1 ($111,200 p.a) and Step 11 ($146,900 p.a, pro rata) of the Medical Physicists scale.
