Consultant Psychiatrist - Dunedin

• Salary range: NZD 200K to 300K per annum, pro rata as per ASMS Collective Agreement

Our mental health service is here to enable people to live well in their communities. We do this through a range of mental health teams and subspecialities. We have inpatient units and community teams, alongside dynamic emergency, forensic, child and adolescent, older persons', addiction and consultation-liaison subspecialty teams.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess and treat adults experiencing significant mental illness while collaborating closely with primary care and other specialist services. You will provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the team, contributing to high-quality, recovery-focused care.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to:

The role includes participation in the after-hours on-call roster covering the Otago region.

About you

You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in psychiatry in either an inpatient or community setting.

To be considered, you would need to have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or an equivalent specialist qualification or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• experience providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team
• a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and clinical teaching
• an understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
• a full driver licence.

Salary and benefits

This position is covered by the ASMS Collective Agreement. The full-time base salary ranges from Step 1 (NZD $198,386) to Step 15 (NZD $282,645) per annum, with remuneration offered pro rata according to the appointed FTE and based on recognised experience.
