Registered Nurse - Ward 6C Mental Health for Older People

  • Dunedin Hospital permanent roles available
    Part time between 0.5 FTE and 0.9 FTE
    Salary Band – $81,683- $106,739 p.a prorata + KiwiSaver

About the Role

In this role you will be working from Dunedin Hospital as part of the Ward 6C. Ward 6C is a 12-bed acute assessment and treatment unit for people aged over 65 years with an array of mental health (along with some physical health) needs.

We are looking for experienced Mental Health or Comprehensive Registered Nurse, ideally with some mental health experience, to join our supportive multidisciplinary team.  You will be an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a range of skills and the ability to work effectively with a large team to a high standard of practice. 

Shifts for this role are Monday-Sunday on a rotating roster. Shifts are Mornings – 7.00am to 3.30pm, Afternoons – 2.30pm to 11.00pm, Nights – 10.45pm to 7.15am

About you

Our ideal candidate will:

Be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate. 
Have a Mental health scope of practice to allow for working within this sector - more information can be found at http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/Nurses/Scopes-of-practice
Be dynamic, with a strong knowledge base being essential to meeting the challenge of caring for older people in a mental health environment.
Previous mental health experience is essential
