About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our team in a split role across the Persistent Pain Service and Physiotherapy Outpatients at Dunedin Hospital. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a clinician with experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, rehabilitation, or persistent pain management, or someone with a keen interest in developing advanced skills across these areas.

Within the Persistent Pain Service, you will work collaboratively with an experienced interdisciplinary team to provide collaborative pain assessments, individualised rehabilitation programmes, pain education groups, and exercise sessions. In the Outpatients component of the role, you will manage a varied caseload across a wide range of age groups and conditions, including first presentation ACC injuries and musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation presentations.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary environment. A sound understanding of supporting patients to achieve functional and vocational goals, optimise outcomes, and facilitate effective discharge and self-management is essential.

This role includes participation in weekend and on-call service rosters for Dunedin Hospital acute inpatient services and supervising students as required.

At Dunedin Hospital, we are committed to supporting ongoing professional growth and development. Staff benefit from regular team in-services, senior mentoring, peer review, a comprehensive on-call competency framework, and access to professional development funding for courses and conferences.
