SENIOR CHARGE MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST - DUNEDIN

Salary band:  $136,192 - $142,592 per annum (dependant on experience)

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to step into a senior leadership role within Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Southern. Based in Dunedin, the Senior Charge MIT / Radiology Manager is responsible for coordinating clinical operations, providing professional and operational leadership, and ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of Radiology services across the Southern region. Working closely with the Radiology Service Manager, Clinical Leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee workforce planning, service delivery, quality improvement initiatives, recruitment, and the ongoing development of a highly skilled imaging workforce.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the day-to-day operational management of Radiology services and a multidisciplinary imaging team
• Oversee workforce planning, rostering and resource utilisation to support a 24/7 service
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining accreditation and clinical standards
• Provide professional leadership, coaching and development opportunities for MITs and students
• Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce development across multiple imaging disciplines
• Partner with key stakeholders to deliver safe, patient-centred and equitable healthcare outcomes

The Radiology Department at Dunedin Hospital provides a wide range of diagnostic services supported by a skilled team of MITs, Radiologists, administration staff and healthcare partners. You'll also contribute to services across satellite sites, working in a collaborative, patient focused environment.

About You

You are an experienced and respected Medical Imaging Technologist with a passion for leadership, service excellence and developing high-performing teams. You bring strong operational management skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. Equally comfortable leading change, managing resources and building strong professional relationships, you will be a positive role model who embodies the values of Kindness, Openness, Positivity and Community.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor of Medical Imaging (or equivalent) with current MRTB registration and Annual Practising Certificate
• Extensive clinical imaging experience, including broad exposure across multiple imaging modalities
• Proven leadership capability with experience leading teams, projects or service initiatives
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, professional development and patient-centred care
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and the ability to support equitable health outcomes for Māori and diverse communities
