About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Radiology Assistant to join our dynamic Radiology team. This role will primarily support our MRI service while also contributing across all imaging modalities within the department.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small, supportive team where collaboration, professionalism, and patient-centred care are central to everything we do.
As a Radiology Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting MRI procedures and patient preparation
- Assisting radiographers and nursing staff across all imaging areas
- Patient transfers and positioning (involving physical duties)
- Cleaning and restocking clinical areas
- Managing workflow tasks to maintain efficiency
- Providing reassurance and clear communication to patients and whānau
The role involves regular manual handling and physical activity, so a good level of fitness is essential.

Experience in healthcare is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided, including MRI safety requirements.

Salary range
This role belongs to the APEX Medical Imaging Technologists (MIT) Collective Agreement and falls between step 1 ($72,074 p.a) and Step 5 ($86,719 p.a pro rata) of the Clinical Assistants scale.
