About the Role

We are excited to be recruiting a Fixed Term or Locum, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) Interventional Cardiologist at Dunedin Hospital.

The appointee is expected to:

  • Participate in diagnostic angiography, right heart catheterisation, PCI (including OCT, Shockwave, IVUS) and structural work including TAVR, TEER and LAA closure.
  • Conduct face-to-face patient clinics, providing comprehensive assessments and management plans for a range of cardiac conditions.
  • Collaborate with general medicine teams in managing complex cardiac cases including providing an in-hospital consult service.

This role does have an on-call component for both general cardiology and the 24/7 primary PCI roster for the Otago / Southland region. 

 

Dunedin Hospital is situated in Dunedin, a thriving and busy city in Otago, Te Waipounamu, South Island, New Zealand. There is good shopping and excellent restaurants in the city along with some excellent sports facilities including our Super Rugby team ,the Highlanders. Dunedin is situated just  hours drive from Fiordland National Park and Queenstown / Wanaka. There are several of New Zealand's Great walks within 3 hours drive of the city centre. Dunedin airport is served with flights to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland and the Gold Coast.

 

About You

Appointed specialists will possess the FRACP or an equivalent qualification allowing a vocational registration with the NZ Medical Council.
