Occupational Therapist – Allied Health Unit (AHU)

- Salary: $90,843 – $110,290 (pro rata)

We're looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant inpatient Allied Health team at Dunedin Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across acute stroke, oncology/haematology, and internal medicine, while continuing to grow your clinical expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Whether you bring established experience in these areas or a strong interest in developing your skills, you'll be well supported to succeed.
About the role
In this dynamic position, you will:
- Work as part of a high-performing interdisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care
- Provide occupational therapy services across acute stroke, oncology/haematology, and medical inpatient settings
- Occasionally support other inpatient areas, keeping your practice varied and engaging
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in a weekend on-call roster (flexibility required)

About you
You are an enthusiastic and adaptable clinician who thrives in a fast-paced hospital setting. You bring:
- A minimum of 3 years' clinical experience
- Experience in acute stroke care (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to prioritise and manage a busy caseload effectively
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
You'll also:
- Support and mentor students, junior staff, and Allied Health Assistants
- Work confidently both autonomously and collaboratively
- Be flexible and responsive in a changing healthcare environment

Salary range
This role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 - ($90,843) p.a and Step 7 ($110,290) p.a pro rata of the Degree-Based Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
