About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role has become available as we continue to strengthen our financial partnering capability, ensuring our clinical and operational leaders have the insights and support they need to make informed decisions that improve services and deliver value for our communities.
As a trusted finance partner, you will work closely with service managers and clinical leaders to provide timely financial advice, analysis and reporting across your portfolio. You'll lead budgeting and forecasting activities, contribute to business cases and investment decisions, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance while supporting the long-term sustainability of Health New Zealand. Working collaboratively across the wider Finance team, you'll help embed strong financial practices that support high-quality healthcare delivery.
About you
You are a collaborative finance professional who enjoys building relationships and turning complex financial information into practical insights that support decision-making.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with CA (or equivalent) qualification, or be working towards it.
- At least 3–5 years' experience in management accounting, financial analysis or business partnering, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Experience delivering budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, with a continuous improvement mindset.
